PART 1——
Food insecurity is a real issue. Every day, teachers see the effects of children’s hunger in their classrooms.
Some children are sent to school with breakfasts, snacks, or lunches full of soda, candy, and sugary or fatty foods (Guardian News & Media Limited, 2020). Other children go to school without any breakfast, lunch, or snacks at all. Children who miss out on receiving proper nutrition are at a higher risk of developing health, learning, social, and behavioral challenges due to the lack of proper nutrition (Feeding America, 2020). That is why schools and teachers are working to make a change for children and their families.
