SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT
Each student in this class is to register for The Let Us Dream (LUD) LET US DREAM CONFERENCE on October 31, 2024 at Grambling State University in the Nursing Building. This conference is designed to honor volunteerism and giving back to our communities worldwide. This year due to the Pandemic, this conference has been virtual and last year GSU had a group of students and faculty who attended the conference in Bangalore, India. Make sure your register at: www.gram.edu — search for Let Us Dream Conference and register online. Links to an external site.Updates regarding the conference will be posted so be sure to check back until October 31, 2024.
Your assignment is to: Create a 1 minute video on your phone using music, songs, graphics, fonts and animation that addresses Giving Back. Also, you will be given extra credit for registering for the conference and attending it on Thursday, October 31, 2024 and submitting your reflection paper on Nov. 3, 2024. You may also nominate someone who works to help others and gives back to others by emphasizing the importance of giving to others in service and activities while at GSU or in your community. The nomination form is on the Let Us Dream webpage at: www.gram.edu also. Address how important giving back is to communities. Your video will be put together with each FCS student and will be archived for future use. Be sure to speak about how service learning works and how you have made a difference or someone you know in giving service today. Recommend someone you know for CHANGEMAKERS AWARDS on the registration site and complete the form, submit a video about the work that the person you are nominating has done.
Also, you are also develop 10 Tips for Children to Learn to Give and Provide Service to Others. Research 2 peer reviewed articles about teaching children about giving back and building responsibility in communities and email them to me as well.
THE DUE DATE to submit these Tips as a result of participating in the Let Us Dream 2024 Conference as a volunteer.
