Collect literature on the selected topic. Conduct a literature review for their selected capstone topic which will include a minimum of 10 Journal articles of scholarly literature pertaining to the selected topic.
Literature review – creation of scholarly peer reviewed source list (Peer Review – is the evaluation of research quality and rigor by Individuals in the same specialty area) You may use other sources that are not peer reviewed in addition to the minimum 10 scholarly sources. So to be clear you must have 10 peer reviewed journals minimum and may have more sources but you cannot have less.
Steps to a Literature Review
1. Identify and access relevant and reliable sources
2. Identify the topic/terms to search Utilize keywords to help you locate articles that pertain to your topic or the points you want to make about your topic
3. Refine the topic/terms If your search is too broad or to narrow you will need to refine your search of the literature by using Boolean operators
Boolean Operators are –
AND Joins Concepts
NOT Excludes Concepts
OR includes Either or Both Terms
* Includes – All words with the same root
“ “ Includes Only exact phrases in quotations
() Combines – Search Parameters
() Allows for “Nested” searches
4. Search results once you have identified your list of articles you need to list them in APA reference format
5. Evaluate the results by reading the article to ensure it contains the information you need.

• Abstract – is a short description of the study’s – Participants, IV, DV, and Results
• Introduction Section Provides – Relevant background info and purpose
• Methods Section – includes detailed information about – Participants, Settings, DV, Design, Baseline and IV
• Results Section – Displays and describes the study’s findings
• Discussion Section – describes – Goal achievement, Limitations, Implications, and Future Research
• Reference Section – lists – Previous research and materials cited in the article
