Directions:
Produce a 3-4 page rough draft. Please submit the draft the day before you come in for your conference–or, at the very least, a few hours. Please make sure you use 12point Times New Roman, and that the document is double spaced with “Before” and “After” spacing set to zero.
The essay should be developed from your first “mini-essay,” and should take into account my feedback and suggestions for revision (as you receive them). It will be assessed on the basis of your introduction (whether it grabs the attention of the reader); illustrations (whether you provide adequate examples where needed); and detail (whether you offer substantive, vivid description of your personal connection to your object and the backstory, memory, emotion, aspect of yourself, or persons of whom it reminds you).
When you’ve completed your rough draft, please submit it to the Canvas assignment box. Also, be sure to have an electronic copy of your paper with you at the conference, or a hard copy, so that we can look over it together.
Format Guidelines
No title page. Simply put a title (name, year, class, paper title) on the first page, on the top left. Single space it.
Be sure to number your pages at top or bottom (excluding the first) and put your last name in the header or footer: e.g. “Nagy 2.”
