Instructions:
Research different types of accounting careers: Use resources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, professional organizations like the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and job postings to research different types of accounting careers. Examples may include public accounting, corporate accounting, government accounting, forensic accounting, or taxation.
Analyze job responsibilities: Select at least three accounting careers that interest you and analyze the job responsibilities for each. Describe the daily tasks, duties, and functions performed in each role. Consider the level of client interaction, degree of specialization, and potential for upward mobility in each role.
Evaluate education and experience requirements: Research the education and experience requirements for each of the accounting careers you have analyzed. Compare and contrast the different levels of education and experience needed for each role and identify any certifications or licenses that are required or recommended.
Reflect on your findings: Write a reflection on your research and analysis. Consider which accounting careers appeal to you the most and why.
