Choose a interdisciplinary issue/topic by reviewing relevant scholarship, thinking about how you would collect and process data, and pondering potential findings.
This option is a formal research paper containing the following sections*:
• Title
• Introduction
o Set up your topic, relevant context, and argument
• Review of the relevant scholarship (literature review)
o Presentation of relevant peer-reviewed sources.
o Show your reader you’re familiar with the scholarship, previous contributions
• Methods Discussion
o Brief discussion of the type of research method you would select to collect data on your topic.
o Why did you make that selection?
o What do you think the limitations might be of your proposed method/data collection?
• Findings and discussion/analysis
o As you will not have gathered data, you will not have findings. In this section you will need to theorize what you hope to or might find at the conclusion of your proposed research collection.
• Conclusion
o Reiterate your argument and its significance
o Potentially point to future research
• References
o Six of your sources must be scholarly, peer-reviewed sources (journal articles)
