Completing a literature review matrix is essential in preparing to write your literature review. Please read through each of your five articles carefully and critically. Consider taking notes in your articles because they will be handy in future assignments.
You should have read your articles at least twice: once when you selected the article and decided it met your purpose and the second time to understand how the study was designed and conducted. With the third (or more) reading, you will critically analyze the article.
A matrix is a table that contains key points from the articles you have selected. Some columns are required for the matrix. Use this template to enter your information in the matrix. Consider adding additional columns based on your findings. Do not use Excel; see the syllabus for accepted files in Canvas.
While working on the table, don’t worry about using full sentences. It is OK to use bullets and phrases. This summary literature review will help you synthesize the information in the articles. Ensure you use a permalink (UNCW) for your articles so faculty can review them.
