EBP: Critical analysis of a professional nursing article
Through the critical analysis of this professional article, the student applies critical thinking skills, such as the ability to analyze and critically reason about various phenomena that arise in professional practice, argumentation aimed at issuing judgments based on evidence, identification of alternatives in problem solving, and evaluation of approaches or proposals by an author/authors on best practices in the practice of nursing.
Specific instructions for the task:
The student will conduct a literature search for professional articles related to the practice of nursing.
The student will select one (1) professional nursing article, published less than five (5) years ago, that is related to the topic:
Technological advances in medication administration.
After reading and analyzing the article, the student will present a brief summary of the content of the publication in only 250 words. Giving special emphasis to answering the following questions:
What is the main argument of the author or authors in this article?
What other points of view do the author(s) propose in this article?
What evidence (data, facts, studies conducted and related, etc.) presented by the author(s) support his/her arguments?
How reliable is the evidence presented by the author(s) to support his/her arguments?
Conclusion(s) reached by the author(s).

Do you agree with the author’s conclusions and arguments? Explain your response, whether it is in favor or against the author’s arguments.

What implications do the author(s)’ findings or recommendations have for nursing practice and for you in particular?
