Infant/Toddler Observation (3 months  – 2 years old)
*To complete this assignment there are two OPTIONS, see OPTION 1 and OPTION 2!
OPTION 1:
In a Word Document, create a cover sheet to include age of child, gender, and setting of observation.
Observe 1 an infant/toddler (3 months to 2 years old)  for 30 minutes. You can observe this child in a group setting. You may need to describe their interaction with other children.
Write 10 descriptive sentences while you observe the infant/toddler. Write what you see and hear!
Next to each sentence, write if it is an example of the Physical, Cognitive or Social-Emotional domain.

Example: When strangers entered his house, Jake ran to his Mom and held onto her leg with both arms – Social Emotional, Physical and Cognitive.

OPTION 2:
If you cannot identify an infant or toddler to observe, then watch the following YouTube video and follow these directions:
In a Word Document, write 10 descriptive sentences about the child in the video clip. Write what you see! Describe what you see the child doing.  Remember we practiced this in class.
Next to each sentence, write if it is an example of the Physical, Cognitive or Social-Emotional domain.

Example: When the wood blocks fell, he grabbed one of the wood blocks and set them between his legs. Then he grabbed a second wood block and set it in front of the first wood block, balancing them so they do not fall on each other. – Physical and Cognitive.

No Cover Sheet is needed.
