1.3: What Are Nutrients? – Medicine LibreTexts
one of the food analysis:
1. Food List:
a) Coffee, tea, water
b) Vegetables: carrots, spinach, broccoli
c) Pasta, rice bread
d) Snacks: Cookies, chips, granola bars
e) chicken, beef, fish
Reasons: The foods mentioned earlier are among the family traditions, are very convenient, and easily affordable.
2. Healthy Diet Alignment:
My diet incorporates lean sources of protein and vegetables. It also consists of processed snacks and carbohydrates, which may need to adhere to the principles of a balanced diet. Consuming processed foods is very harmful. This is because they will likely interfere with future health, leading to nutritional deficiencies and unnecessary weight gain.
3. Nutritional Intake:
Protein: They are present due to the consumption of fish and meat.
Calories: Too many calories, especially from snacks.
Minerals and vitamins: There are likely not enough of them, especially the micronutrients from vegetables and fruits.
Fat is very adequate but may be too high from processed foods.
Water: Adequate with regular water intake.
Carbohydrates: Too high due to Pasta, rice, and bread.
4. Home meals vs eating out
I eat two or three times a week due to having people around and comfort.
5. Packed foods vs home cooking
Home foods are prepared four times a week with fresh and frozen ingredients.
6. Thoughts on dieting
Diets are beneficial when they are done mindfully. Before, I tried eating diets of low carbs and found that they were challenging to maintain due to cravings for carbohydrates.
7. Insight hope for
I want to understand better how my diet impacts me and the changes I can make to improve it.
