Overview
In the previous module, you learned about active citizenship, including the rights and duties of active citizens. In this assignment, you will use the same skills to research and examine a social movement and an affiliated interest group. Later, for your project, you will choose to focus on either the social movement as a whole or the affiliated interest group that you research in this assignment.
In this assignment, you will describe the social movement and affiliated interest group and the key historical events that relate to the movement and group. You will also explain how social conditions and personal bias assumptions may influence this social movement and interest group and how the social movement and interest group have impacted society.
This assignment will assist you in completing the first part of the project. It will also help you decide whether you want to focus your project on the social movement as a whole or a specific interest group within the social movement. Any feedback that you receive on this assignment should be implemented when you complete the project.
