What problems do African Americans face in terms of their identity and place in

What problems do African Americans face in terms of their identity and place in American culture, according to DuBois? Explain your answer using the relevant text as evidence. To what extent would Washington disagree with DuBois’s assessment? What’s the role of the state? Are we to eliminate it? For this paper, focus only on the examples DuBois gives (not contemporary examples, which we spent enough time on in class). Failure to focus only on the text will result in a low score on the paper. Connect the dots for each sentence/idea to the topic.
