APA format. You will need to have double spaced, and then font and type size consistent with the manual, as well as the title page adhering to that. If you’re using the template that’s provided for you, all that is already set, so you don’t need to worry about setting that up yourself. Then there’s several areas of content and headings. The first one is introduction. Of course, you don’t type the heading of introduction in APA format, but you do write an introduction. The second one is reflection on learning from the nurses’ answers. Next is the insight gained from conversation regarding leadership, provision of care, and/or evidence-based practice. You may choose one or more of those to highlight in your insight section. And then the last major section is the analysis of the impact of nursing history on professional nursing practice, today and in the future. Be sure to include both today and in the future. And then the final section in your paper is the conclusion. This paper needs to be approximately three double spaced pages, excluding the title page. The more important parameters are 800 to 1,000 words. You can use the word count feature in Microsoft Word to count those words, to make sure that you are within those parameters. There is no reference page in this paper. There are no citations and there are no references. Because this is a reflection paper, how you are reflecting on those areas required. So you’re not pulling in scholarly outside professional nursing journal articles for this one. This is all about you, your reflection, your insight, and your analysis. You will also need excellent mechanics in scholarly writing, including all of these areas, and then submit by the end of week six. Let’s take a look at the template that is provided. And you can see here, this is actually the seventh edition APA template. And it should be quite easy for you to use. If you’re used to using sixth edition, this will not seem a whole lot different for you. So you notice that there is a one-paragraph introduction to be typed, it tells you what you need to have in it. There is no heading of introduction. You don’t need to change the title of the paper, we’re just gonna call it Reflection Paper. Then the first major heading is the reflection on learning from the nurses’ answers. The next one, as I mentioned, is that insight heading, we talked about this just a moment ago. And then the last one being the analysis heading. Then of course, there is a conclusion to follow that. Keep in mind that the length of the yellow in here is not significant related to what your length will be. That just was what I needed to use to type the instructions. Also remember that you will remove all yellow instructions and all yellow highlighting in your final paper. These are just there to make it a little easier for you, so you see what’s expected. And again, notice no reference page, no citations, no references. Let’s take a quick look at the rubric that’s on the bottom of that assignment page. So the first area talks about the mechanics of title page, margins, body of the paper being 800 to 1,000 words. Always focus very much on what this first two column, the criteria column and the highest point column. Because that’s what you wanna do to earn the most points. Remember that not everything is on the template as yellow instructions. You need to come back to this rubric and take a good look at all of that with all of your assignments. Then you’re scored on the introduction, tells what you need to do to earn the most points. Likewise on the reflection, the insight section, the analysis section, and the conclusion. Then your mechanics and organization need to be excellent. And you can see these four areas where that’s the case. There is an assigned template, I highly recommend that you use it cuz you’ve seen it, we’ve got it all set up for you. If you choose not to use that and develop your own template, it needs to follow along with all of those APA format areas, so be sure and do that. And if for some reason you have to turn this in late, there will be late deductions, as mentioned here. However, if you are running into trouble as you’re preparing this and think you might not be able to make that due date, right away, reach out to your instructor. And have a conversation with your instructor to see what might be able to be done to help you match that deadline. Thank you so much for your attention today, and enjoy the course project.
