Its to be done as an infographic. Wait, what is APA format? APA Format is a style of writing used to communicate information and research in the field of psychology. It is a format published by the American Psychological Association in their APA Manual. We are currently in the 7th edition of that manual; and truthfully, it’s widely used by both psychologists and many other academics and research fields. Primarily, this format provides detailed guidelines for research papers and articles published in peer-reviewed journals, but it also provides clear expectations regarding within-text citations and references. We will mainly focus on the citations and references for this infographic assignment.
Why is this all important? On your infographic, you will be using two sources of material: (1) the article you’ve already read and (2) an additional source you find in the next step. When using the information, you’ll be relying on your soon-to-be-developed paraphrasing skills. In this field, we do not use direct quotations to convey information. Instead, we read information written by others, and we paraphrase it, or more simply, we put it in our own words. However, even when we paraphrase, we must provide an in-text citation and a reference for that material. Even though we’re not using the words of the other authors, we’re still using their knowledge and their ideas and we must cite and reference those as well. Your infographic grade will heavily depend on your success in paraphrasing, citing, and referencing.
How will you learn about this material? The following interactive learning assessment will provide you with some information on each of these three topics (paraphrasing, citing, and referencing). You will be given reading selections and videos to support your learning and you will be asked to respond to questions as you learn. This will be similar to Step 1 of this assignment.
How will you be graded on this part? You will only be able to answer the questions once for a grade. You are encouraged to take your time; and, you’re encouraged to work to comprehend all of the information given.
How much time will you need to do this part? Please set aside 45 to 60 minutes to ensure you have enough time to complete the work. It does not have to be completed in one setting and it is not a timed assessment, but it is due by the due date provided.
